Allagash Brewing Company sold its first batch of beer in the summer of 1995. Founder Rob Tod was tired of the proliferation of German and British style beers which dominated the U.S. Hence, this brewery focuses on the ever-creative Belgian-styles beers - with a distinct American twist.
